Question About Crawfish Soft Lures

Featured Replies

im from nj and im pretty sure we dont have crawfish here. if i were to throw a crawfish lure out in a lake or pond do you think the fish would go for it or just put their nose up to it being as they might not have seen one before?

Although they may be more productive in water with craws they will go for it. I'm in New York and have lots of bodies of water with craws in it. I'm sure they are in some of your waters as well.

What makes you think no crawfish are in the water you fish? Look around the banks and turn over some rocks. Also you may find discarded remains from birds that feed on craws. Either way, there is no harm in trying something that resembles a craw!

Yes, they'd go for a crayfish lure and most other soft plastics as well. This would hold true for a body of water that did or did not have crayfish. However, it's hard to imagine no crayfish in New Jersey.

have you ever seen a chartreuse spinnerbait fish? Or a living black trick worm? No, but they both will catch fish in most places were bass inhabit. Throw your craw baits, they will get bit.

I would think there are at least SOME crayfish in most NJ waters.
