Minn Kota Prop On Motorguide

Featured Replies

Ive read on the net and heard from a guide in florida that putting a minn kota prop ( weedless wedge2) on a motorguide is easy and effective, I have a motorguide tour 75. Has anyone tried this? What did it require and are you pleased with it?

Hi you have to make the pin slot a little deeper might have to try a couple props but the diff is amazing. Junebugman

I ended up putting a weedless wedge 2 on my motorguide tour 75 and it works well, took some modifying but runs great in the weeds now

Don, I have the Motor Guide Safari prop that is supposed to be great in weeds, BUT it is .6 mph slower than the Machete which I don't need since I fish several electric-only waters. I just have it as a spare now.

The biggest difference is the way the minnkota prop is designed to delflect weeds away from the blades all the "ninja" blades design is its biggest fault! Too many blades 3 cuases it to plug up too easily. Junebugman

The Safari prop is a larger 2 blade design similar to the OMC HO prop.

I put a Safari on my 36v Tour 101# earlier this year. My only problem is that the blades seem easier to dent. If I could stop running into stuff I would have no problems with this prop.
