Cheaper Rod But Same Taper As Ducket Dobyns

Featured Replies

I have been watching a lot of flukmasters vidoes and really liking the look of his rods. He says hes using a Ducket and Dobyns for example. I really don't have the money to spend on them so I was looking for some cheaper alternatives. The thick backbone is what I'm after. Those things look like baseball bats compared to my rods.

Actually I rather a thin diameter blank as it is light but it also has to be strong but most quality medium heavy rods will be close. If you have medium power spinning rods then a medium heavy or heavy casting rod will look thick compared to that and a Dobyns savvy or a Ducket Micro Magic really aren't that expensive, but todays value rod market is incredible, you can get a lot of rod for $100.

Get a Powell Max 703C.

These things got a great tip and a mean backbone.

Also, the camera may be playing some tricks. The lense will distort to a bit, and make the rods look like they're bending less/more depending on angle.

The Max is the same price range.

Excuse my negligence then, I thought the Saavy and Duckett were in the 160-175 area, or atleast I thought they used to be.

No problem.

All my rods are Champion Dobyns and Ducketts Micro Guide with the exception of one Champion Extreme Series Dobyns rod. The Duckett rods aren't that expensive think about $149 and you can look at the Savey Series of Dobyns also. But if your looking for just one all around rod.. It's worth saving up for a Dobyns or Duckett IMO.

Dont really understand wanting a thicker rod ( dont qoute me on that lol). For what its worth all of daiwas lower end stuff seems to have a really thick blank...it actually caused me to pump the brakes on the new TD rods.
