Big Bass In Se Pennsylvania?

Featured Replies

I live in Philadelphia and Im looking for places i can catch big bass. I dont mean 10 pounders or anything. Just some 5,6,7, pounders. For me a 3 pound fish is big and id like to change that. I live right along the Delaware River but i dont own a boat so Im bank fishing. Anyone from this area know of any spots with quality bass?

Schuylkill river smallies can get to the 5-6 range. I wade that river all the time. mostly north of birdsboro but there's plenty of them in there. I'd suggest tubes on a jig head.

south jersey! they have some amazing water shed areas. that's were i do 90% of my fishing now. pick up the book "in pursuit of giant bass" by bill murphy $11 on ebay. i'm searching for 5-10lb bass only now. its really about going deep (could be 8ft if in a small pond) and slowing down the presentation (more finesse fishing; chasing lures is more of a small/medium size fish trait). maybe i can show you some of my snj spots. good luck

I live in Central NJ and even though they are rare, I have caught several in the 7-9 lb range, two in the 10-12 lb range, and hundreds around 5 lbs.

Nockamixon in the spring has some decent numbers of 5lb. plus bass that are catchable. Wade flats and throw spinnerbaits or swimbaits in April and May.

I live in Telford and fish with clackerbuzz on e and a while WHENEVER HE CALLS ME!!!!!!

Haha, anyway, Green Lane Reservoir, though expensive to rent a boat, produces some big bass, and often. I always get a few fours when I go there. I have a buddy who caught an 8.5 during POST spawn. They're in there...
