  1. Now that you have to report anything over $600, I was wondering if everyone is still accepting PayPal as payment? I usually sell a few grand worth of used tackle each year and I don’t want Uncle Sam looking over my shoulder. I’d like to hear from those that sell items consistently. Thanks!
  2. The Maribou jigs I was asking about were 1/16oz, so I’d imagine a #1, maybe 1/0 is the largest you could go.
  3. Over the last several years, I’ve heard a lot from guys that fish the Great Lakes that little 1/16-3/32oz black Maribou Jigs swam in the water column are shallow smallmouth killers. I’d like to learn more about this technique, and I’d like to see some jigs from someone in the know. I’d like to tie a few myself on Hayabusa jig heads and see about cracking a few smalljaws here in Southeastern PA. Any experts on here?
  4. I live by a lake in PA that has big gizzard Shad and I’m thinking the offshore bucktails/preacher/hair jig I see the TVA fishermen using might be a great option when the bass move deep. What’s everyone’s favorite brand and size? Also, what material do you prefer? Maribou? Deer hair? Something else?

  6. Perfect! I’ll always pay for quality. Thanks!
  7. Rod warrior and sixth sense are the EXACT same design. Rod warrior came up with the design ten years ago in Philadelphia PA. Sixth sense came out with theirs, what, two years ago? They ripped off the little guy and I won’t support them. Here are some pictures of my sleeves.
  8. I stay away from the mesh sleeves. Yes, they keep the rods from tangling in one another, but that’s about where the benefits stop. eyes can still pop out and hooks get easily tangled in them. i use Rod Warrior USA rod sleeves. They’re are hand sewn neoprene and included an integrated reel loop to keep them from sliding. The neoprene acts as a cushion and also makes the combo float. It also takes a LOT of pressure for hooks to penetrate them. yes, they’re more expensive ($10ish) and I don’t care, because the rod/reel combo I put in it is anywhere from $200-$400. It’s the best protection you can get for your combos and I highly suggest them.
  9. I’ve also been researching the lake. I’m going to spend some time there this year. LOTS of potential.
  10. They are all this way. I’ve used these blades on several spinnerbaits and the results are the same. @smalljaw67, could you recommend a brand/source of painted blades in this color? I believe these were cabelas brand. Never again...
  11. The blade does have an odd shape to it. Maybe causing some extra drag?
  12. @Smalljaw @cadman I think it might be the blades. I took a KVD finesse spinnerbait (tandem), replaced the #2 Colorado with One of my #3 red kicker blades, and it won’t spin. I’ll post a photo for reference, but I think the blades I bought just suck.
  13. Welcome, Brian! I grew up in Northern Nj (Sussex and Passaic counties). Where are you from? I might know I spot or two up your way.
  14. Little green lake is a sleeper. Lots of quality fish there.
  15. I make my own spinnerbaits. I made a few 3/8oz with a matte orange color add blade (#2.5 or 3 I think) and a #4 or 4.5 main Colorado blade. My problem is that the orange kicker blade isn’t spinning. The main blade is spinning while the smaller kicker blade just flops around. Any idea what’s happening?

  17. Quakertown here! Fish mostly Nockamixon and do fairly well there.also have a honey hole in Dingmans Ferry (where I grew up) and drag my boat up that way sometimes. wife and I had our second baby in August, so fishing time has been about non-existent since then. Hopefully spring will be better!
  18. I live in Quakertown. I suggest you find some local ponds. Maybe spend some time on the Delaware in Easton.
  19. It’s got gooooooooood smallies in it. Blue Marsh would be a good spot to try. Also the Susquehanna River; arguably the best inland smallmouth fishery in the eastern PA.
  20. Depends. I like the strike king menace grubs and their blade minnow. The latter being very underrated.
  21. Not sure of release date, but there is also a 3” Rage Bug coming out. Haven’t heard of anything else.
  22. That’s how I felt for the most part. I’m a bait junkie, and a fan of Strike King. They’re launching some cool new things this year. Otherwise, eh....
  23. Finally!!! A 3” Rage Bug!!!
