anyone have any feedback, positive or negative, about the Veritas line of rods? i checked them out today at Dicks and like the way they feel. i tend to fish alot of pitching and flipping baits, around docks and submerged grass, and laydowns. any recommendations from Veritas owners? i guess i should say that i fish mono, as opposed to braid, if it makes any difference and will probably match it with a abu premier reel. thanks in advance.

I just got one and paired it with my Lews Tournament SS and I like it a lot. I haven't been able to fish it much yet but it handles very well in my opinion. I got a MH power and it is pretty stiff compared to other MH rods. Only thing I don't like about it is the hook keeper (if you can even call it that) because it is almost flush up against the rod making it hard to put anything on it. With that being my only complaint I think its a great rod for the price.

Awesome rods, its my favorite rod of the ones that I own. I actually like the hook keeper, it keeps things in place and line doesnt get caught up on it like on my carbonlite which is on the side.

I had a revo sx on it at one point and it felt well balanced. I have a 7ft m/h micro guide version.

I have the 6'9" MH micro guide rod paired up with a Lews reel and love it. I am very happy with it and plan on adding a few more in the very near future.

I have a 7'3" mh with a revo s and I live it they are very light and have great sensitivity

I have the 7'6. MH I use for flipping an pitching jigs and plastics I absolutely love it. I have mine paired with a RevoSX and 50lb pp I'm probably gonna throw one of my new S models on it tomorrow actually.

They're great rods for the price. I don't have one but fished extensively using my brother in law's and it is very light and sensitive. Would definitely recommend.

I like mine, I have a 6'9" MH/XF with a chronarch 201e and 50# 832 and it is really nice for flipping/pitching/frog rod

Awesome rod. If your going to purchase it from Dick's just make sure you look it over real well. Have found a few at my local Dick's and they have put broken ones back on the stand. I have mine paired up with a Lews Speed spool and I love it.

I have a 7 ft mh extra fast mainly for spinnerbaits. It's paired with a daiwa laguna. I absolutely love my combo. It's an amazing rod.

great rod for the price. I have several of them and have no problems as of yet. I even use one for redfishing and it handles well. I'm mainly a flipping/pitching guy and I like the extra stiffness.

Thats the man difference i see compared to other rods is a MH is more of a H.

I have a couple that I was able to find brand new for 65 dollars also. Just got to be patient and shop around.

I've been really interested in trying the crankbait rod.

thanks for the input guys!!... i wouldnt buy it from Dicks, i like to give my business to the local tackle shops, and stay away from the chain stores...just had a few too many bad experiences through the years. i like the 7 footer mh as well, and feel it will serve my style well.

Compared to the mojo, I think it's a better buy. I feel that it is lighter. And plus, now you can get micro guides on em. I do like the cork on the mojo though. I snapped one the other day, but 'teas more my fault. I've dropped em, stuck the tips into the dirt, jammed them into bushes, and it held up, well both of them. I plan on adding a few more unless I really like the new team daiwa T rods

Great rods... Light and good sensitivity, as others have said. I think I have 3 of them currently - various sizes, one spinning and two bait casters. You won't regret getting one, but do check it over thoroughly before you buy it, as many can be damaged in shipping or through rough handling by the employees. I've seen some that were 'cracked' at Dick's before, so double check it before you buy (I.e. like BassFisherman94 said previously).

i guess what prompted my inquiry was some negative feedback about them breaking on hooksets and even small fish. they seem like an excellent value for the money, and i fell in love with how light and balanced they feel.going to look into the warranty aspect to see how they compare to other co.'s.

I think think that breaking issue was in that first run of rods and mostly due to user error or neglect. I got mine when they first came out I have definitly neglected mine but it has yet to break on anything not even getting closed in the car door.

Popped some small fish out of the water yesterday with my rod. I can attest that the Veritas can handle the 1lb large mouth bass.

I have 10 of these rods and they have been used almost 100 days on the water this year. I did have one break on the hookset but it was replaced over the counter. My only complaint with them is the eyes. You have to baby them.

I was able to pick up three Veritas rods on super sale at the Indianapolis Boat Sport and Travel Show in February and am very happy with all three of the rods (including the hook keepers). They were quite an upgrade from my old BPS Bionic Blade rods, are very sensitive, lightweight and comfortable.

Here are my setups:

7' MH spinning, Pflueger Supreme XT, 20# PP braid, all weightless soft plastics;

6'9" MH baitcasting, BPS PQ 6.4:1 reel, 17# mono for spinnerbaits, topwaters, swimming jigs, weighted plastic worms;

7' H baitcasting, PQ 7.1:1, 50# PP braid for jigs, frogs, etc.

I will probably pick up a ML spinning rod this coming winter, and am considering getting both winch models, too.

ha,haaaa... hilarious!! i think i have a pretty good feeling about them and will give them a try. as i said, i am in agreement that they seem a great rod for the money and have heard more good than bad. as clayton said, it may have been that they were still working the bugs out of the initial run of rods, and alot of manufacturers go through this with new lines.

i cant say enough good things about this rod!!!! i own two and will buy another soon (7ft med, 7ft6 medhvy, and ill buy a 7ft6 hvy)

Just be careful with the micro guide rods, they are known for popping out guide inserts.

I really liked mine, but it did not do well fishing for river run striped bass. Graphite ended up cracking, so I returned it. Great rod, just seemed a little stiff and brittle to me.
