In speaking of youngsters, will any of you non boaters have any saftey equiptment at all?, I will come prepaired to have extras as far as life jackets etc... but you will need to have your fishing licence's in order before we hit the water, the police do check on a regular basis there so you need to be ready.

Just an FYI

Whoever fishes with me does not need a PFD. I do have inflatables (2) for each of us.

Me and my dad both have pfd's and we will bring them just in case. Also, i have a question about tackle. I know we bring our own rods and reels but what is acceptable bait wise. A couple of trays in a tacklebag or bring lots and let they boater decide when you get there. And since my dad is there I will have permission as I am under 18(I am 17).

Sure thing Sam,

Date= Sept. 22nd

Launch ramp= State park

Launch time= 7am

Time to arrive= my suggestion would be at least by 6am for the random drawing etc...

Cookout= we weigh in around 4 or 5 pm, for the bragging rights tournament, and as you put it, lie to eachother lol !!

Donation= 5 bucks, Family is included for those who wish to bring them, all we ask is for them to bring a covered dish if they can.

As far as tackle goes, one tackle box should be all you will need, I will say that lizards work pretty good there along with drop shots rigged with robo worms, Green Pumpkin, Watermelon Red, Pumkin Seed/Chart, PB&J, Cotton Candy, Salt and Pepper, are all colors that work pretty well there in the past as far as plastics are concerned.

Spinners, Willow leaf, double or tripple blades work well with Yellow/Bruised Bananna, White/Chart or Blue/Black skirts with a split tail trailer

Jigs, I like Natural colors with a little Chart to immulate sun fish

This Lake has a ton to offer, Grass, Rocks and rock piles, Lay downs, Beaver huts, more structure than you could ever imagine, deep cover, Stumps both shallow and deep, it will be hard to cover in a day.

Flukes, Baby bass colors, Salt and Pepper, that should give you all a good idea of what to bring.

We hope you do as well, Anna has the plausability that we could catch some decent fish in both amount and in size as well, but she can be nasty stingy with her fish as well.

Will you be joining us for the cookout ?

I dont see why i wouldnt b able too.. what will i need to bring if i can join the cookout?!

Pitch in 5 bucks for the meats, and if you wish to bring a side dish or desert, we will leave that up to you...I eat a lot when the food is good, just keep that in mind LOL !!!

Look forward to meeting you !!!

As for tackle... I leave the rear compartments open for your gear. Each will hold 3 or 4 Plano 3700 boxes.

Zoff and I have talked about that, I can get the address or the exact location by means of coordinates for the entrance to the park, or I can give you all specific directions.

I will post all three if necessary, How would you guys like it?

Seems like everyone has gps these days except me...still old fashioned map reader I guess or just old fashioned...or just old.

probably the coordinate would b best. dont have a gps so google maps is what ill be using

No problem, I will gather that intel info and post it here for your enjoyment...WWWWWOOOOO HHHHOOOOOOOO !!!!

I have a PFD's, and plenty of soft plastics, spinner and buzz baits. Bring your personal stuff, i.e. rods, lunch, drinks, sun screen, rain gear, etc..

EDIT: Is anyone bring family that will not be fishing, just hanging out on shore? I'm trying to get my wife to come, but her idea of camping is a nice quite B&B. My Granddaughter did get her to sleep in the tent out in the back yard one night though.

  • Super User

Yes,

My wife and youngest daughter will be coming, I will fish with them on Friday and Sunday, but Saturday they will be at camp, I do not know if your wife likes to play cards or cornhole or anything but I know the wife likes card games.
