Good Flurocarbon For Spinning Reels?

Let us know how you like that set up. What fluro did you end up using?

Sunline sniper FC...6 or 8# whatever you get, pick up a line conditioner...it makes a world of difference when it comes to minimizing line twist.

so what type of braid do you guys like for clear water finesse ill be running either #20 or #30 with a yo zuri hybrid leader

Since you are using a leader, the brand of braid shouldn't matter; clear water or otherwise. You'll get as many answers to THAT question as there are members of this forum.

ha very true what is your favorite braid or which ones do you like on spinning gear?

I don't have a favorite and the last time I used braid was like 15 years ago. I just started fishing again and I've yet to try any braid since. Everyone has preferences, so I see no reason why any brand is "the one brand to rule them all". There are quality fisherman on this site and some of them recommend Power Pro, some recommend Sufix. Those seem like the top two brands for braid if you base it on number of recommendations.

Should just run straight hybrid. 30# braid is overkill in a creek.

im probably gonna run #20 the reason why is because the area im fishing is so heavy with rock

Watch out with your choice. Braid on the main will be fine, however use the FC as the leader. FC has more abrasion resistance than braid IMO. If you are fishing rivers, with all that running water you are more than likely going to get hung up several times. Once braid rubs up against rock its only a matter of time were a breakage will occur. Line breakage will occur on FC also but not to the same degree.

braid is the last type of line you would want to use around rocks.

what would you recommend then? i was gonna run at least a 2ft lluro leader

IMO the braid/flouro leader will work fine, if you are worried about the rocks cutting the braid, just tie a longer leader. it's less work anyway, because you don't have to tie a new one on as often. 3-5 ft works pretty well.

thats what i was thinking too i mean its almost always extremely clear water so i was gonna run a longer f/c leader due to that reason and the strength of braid would be nice just in case

ive been using p line fluro clear and yo zuri hybrid i like the p line because it lays on the reel nicely but i love the yo zuri for everything else im stuck between the 2 since braid is hit and miss for rocky areas anyone try the mc coy mean green copolymer line? ive read the reviews people seem to love it

I have always been a mono guy but tried Trilene's FC on my spinning outfit that I use for drop shotting. I had to hand line a 3 pounder into the boat because of a loop of FC jumped off of the spool and wrapped around the bail. Yes I manually close the bail with my hand, and pull the line tight after the pitch. I took it off and put mono back on with a FC leader. Will try that tomorrow...
