    I believe that the XC70mhf would be more comparable to the 844 (GLX or IMX), which is a very sweet rod in that lineup. I'm a big fan of both G Loomis and St Croix and would have to say, side by side and price being about equal, I'd take the XC by a hair. Either way you're going to love your new rod.

    thanks guys i think im going to go with the loomis for now and if in two weeks time if they still have the st croix on sale ill pick it up also. i can add their reels later this year or next fishing season
