Question About Driving A Bass Boat

Featured Replies

how old do you have 2 b to drive a bass boat alone with a boaters license? 16? 17?

I think that's something you need to ask your state game warden or go on line to your states boat regulations and look it up. That's something that can vary from state to state. Unless someone from your state is on here and knows the answer.

As said above check your local and state laws.

Here in Missouri you have to be at least 14 to operate any motorized boat or Personal Water Craft (i.e. Jetski). In addition anyone born after 1/1/1984 has to take and pass a Boaters Safety Certification course to be able to operate a boat/PWC.

As others have said, check with the state regs. If you tournament fish, then it is 18. If you don't mind me asking, What is a boaters license?

There is no such item as a "boater's license" in Va.

"In 2007, the Virginia General Assembly enacted a law to establish a boating safety education compliance requirement. This requirement will be phased in over the next several years and by 2016, all operators of PWCs (Personal Watercraft such as jet skis, Sea Doos, Wave Runners) and operators of Motorboats with a 10 hp or greater motor, will be required to have a boating safety education course completion card on board when operating a PWC or Motorboat."

There is a more detailed schedule below that statement on the VDGIF web site that concerns age groups.
