Guys,

I'm looking into getting an All Star ASR 7' flippin stick. I've read reviews, but they could go either way. Some people have no problem with them while others snap them like toothpicks. Who has actual hands on experience with them and can clue me in on whether or not these are a good deal.

hey good thread.. I broke my shakey rod, and was looking at there light worm rod.. allstar seems to be academys flahship more than there own ethos.. so i would love to here imput aswell

All Star Rods used to be a great company when they were an independent, made in America rod company. Now that they are a pawn of Shakespeare, I can't speak to their quality at all.

All I know is that the tackle store that I spend money at used to have many All Star rods on their racks and now they have none, and haven't since All Star was purchased by Shakespeare.

I snapped mine on a hook set took a month to get a hold of them and they wouldnt even replace it

I have the ASR845C 7' crankin stik I use for medium and shallow cranks. I've been using it for about four years now, paired with a curado 100D. I absolutly love this combo. By far one of my favorite setups.

I have the 7' 2" ASR866C jig rod. I really like it.

Before i got that I used my 7ft Fenwick Techna AV mh/f for all bottom contact which I still use for plastic's.

The ASR to me is perfect as a jig rod. Sensitive and beefy at the same time.

It's heavier than the Fenwick but I don't mind.
