What brand are you guys using? Particularly the ones with the inserts. I was using eagle claws but can't seem to find them anymore and I'm placing an online tackle order soon so I'm looking for some opinions.

Must have inserts in them that won't fray my braid or mono.

why so? the few times i have used insert free all they have done is cut my line. may have just been the brand i was using though and they were lead and steel, not tungsten

I've NEVER cut my line on a painted tungsten weight. Get the good ones, and there'll be no issues.
