Yep. Just had their wine festival last week.

Water is low. Was 4-feet low last Saturday and then only 2-feet low on Sunday.

Lots of rocks and wood out of the water.

Hit the shoreline and throw your Carolina rig into the rocks, debris, stumps and tires. You will lose some but you will get hit. Throw towards rocks and wood and look for the deep dropoffs. The bass have moved out from the shore into deeper water along the dropoffs.

Go back into the creeks. Although you may see one or two shad balls the bass are still starting to move into the creeks.

Plastics on floating docks and under piers. Shaky head, drop shot and Senkos seem to attract the fish.

Crankbaits will catch you warmouths, stripers, ring perch and bass. The warmouths are all over the place and they will hit any crankbait you throw.

Smallies are moving under docks and piers.

Some guys swear the dam area is best. Others like mid-lake while others think the Roanoke River west of the bridge is great. Water clarity was excellent this past weekend and you could see at leat six to eight feet into the water everywhere.

No topwater bites other than for buzzbaits and RICOs in the creeks early AM.

Lots of pleasure boaters and jet skis which throw up lots of waves so be watchful when you are fishing and the large boats and jet skis fly past your area.

With the cold front hitting this Sunday and through next week the fishery will probably shut down this week but be up and running next weekend.

Good luck and be safe.
