Me and my son will be going to pickwick sunday afternoon and camping till tuesday. We will be camping at the state park and putting in there as well.

Has anyone been recently and have a report?

Well the camping trip was fun except for the rain and the leaky tent sunday night. We managed to catch a few fish.

Caught 8 monday and 9 tuesday. They were all small lm bass. We caught them on lipless cranks and a couple on husky jerks

in the backs of the coves. There were large groups of 2" shad everywhere and the bass were busting them everywhere.

Just about every bass we caught puked up a few when we got them in the boat. It was a great trip.

That is the crazy part of what is going on right now. Will make you want to give up. Gotta just keep at em until you find what they will hit. Then it is on until they shut off again!

00 mod is right. I caught 27 last Friday. 22 came in less than 3 hours and most were between 2 and 3 pounds. Oh, and 1 drum that was around 8 lbs., thought I had a good one for a minute!

I fished Pickwick from McFarland Saturday and Sunday. My friend caught his personal best small mouth. We also caught a bunch of small spots. He used a lipless crankbait, and I used grubs. We never went below Seven Mile Island. The upper portion of Pickwick is a blast from now until next July or August. Our trip this morning was shortened by the wind and rain. I am gonna try to get in some late evening trips this week, where maybe I can stay on them. Plus I am gonna experiment with learning to flip and using a Carolina rig.

Went Saturday out of Waterloo. Caught about 20 but nothing over 3 pounds. Lipless cranks and hard jerkbaits is what I caught them on. Schooling everywhere but they were difficult to catch. The baitfish they were chasing was about 2". It was a tough day.

Went Monday evening, fishing was slow, started about three thirty and fished till after six. My son caught three little ones, and I caught one keeper on a Zoom version of a Senko. The bait fish activity was slow where we were fishing, I think with more time I could have figured them out.

Saw several boats fishing about 20-30 yards off the bluff across from McFarland down toward Sheffield this afternoon. There was also several in the barge canal.
