Does anyone know the exact date when the 2013 898 SI unit becomes available? I heared December but not sure what day.

I have heard the new hd version will be available in November.

They never relate a specific day. The month is just an estimate that was announced during ICAST.

Contact a dealer like Three Rivers Marine Electronics or BBG Marine Electronics to see what they anticipate delivery to be.

Are the current 1100 series LED? While the 800 and 900 are going to be soon?

The 1198c SI, 1158c, and 1158c DI have the LED backlighting.

Same for the 798ci HD SI, 798c SI, 798ci SI, 788c, 788ci, 788ci HD, and 788ci HD DI.

The 800 and 900 series are the ones getting the LED backlighting for the 2013 year model.

It is LED BACKLIGHTING, not a LED display. The display is still LCD.

No it isn't "safe to say" --being in the catalog means nothing.

You can order them and get put on backorder if they are not in stock. BUT if you want a lower price, BPS is NOT the place to make a purchase. Contact the before mentioned "marine electronics dealers"
