Fished Wheeler Lake Al Today

Caught a lot of small stripe and a couple of dink largemouth. The creek we were fishing had a lot of threadfin shad, water temps were in the low 60's. I tried everything I could think of but could not catch a largemouth of any size, nor could we get the numbers that should have been there chasing shad, Can there be to much live bait in an area. Caught all fish 25 + on a Rapala SR5 shad color.
