Strange Shimano hasn't announced what reel they recommend to be paired to this rod. They usually have a match in mind for all their rods/reels.

A Core would look good on that rod. The gray body of the reel wouldn't match the color of the rod, but the Core does have a red spool and some red accents. It would be a good color combination.

I would also second this color combo. Sticking with shimano reels.

Looks like my slightly modified Zillion with read cap and star would match. Kind of hard to tell with both being in hand, tho.

My ci4 is going to look amazing on the new Cumara d/s rod! I'll post a pic up asap of the setup together!
