Trout And Salmon

Featured Replies

My friend and I are going to my grandfather's house in CT in 2 weeks and we will be targeting trout and salmon. The salmon will be targeted from a pond that is stocked with them (caught a 6 pound salmon with a spoon last time)... The trout will be mostly fished from rivers and or streams... I want to learn how to fly fish but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on some trout/salmon lures that you guys beleive are rather successful.

Thanks

Spoons, inline spinners, smaller flatfish or luhr jensen kwik fish, rattlebaits & jerkbaits. Good luck.

What he said. Also, just because you don't currently know how to use a fly rod doesn't mean you can't use flies. A fly and bubble on spinning gear is a great way to catch trout. Find out which flies the locals are having success with and tie one on behind a casting bubble. This time of year when the water is getting colder, nymph patterns are very productive around here and they are very easy to use under a casting bubble.

Ive never personally caught a trout but about a week ago I saw these 2 guys at my lake slamming them left and right on inline spinners.

Rapala. X-Raps, original floaters or CD's.

Celta spinners too.
