How To Rig A Trailer Hook If Adding Plastic Trailer???

Featured Replies

Im guessing your question is supposed to say how do add a trailer hook to a spinnerbait and still use a TRAILER.... lol typo i guess......For me it's either one or the other. Can't have both.

I think you can have both, but within certain limitations. Put on your trailer and then above it attach your trailer hook in the usual manner. In my personal experience the trailer should have a straight tail. When I've tried a curly tail it gets wrapped around the trailer hook.

I'm with marty on this one, I've fished with both before and it can be done. Just rig the trailer first, then attach the trailer hook second.

what I've done is thread the plastic trailer on the trailer hook until it covered the hook's eye and then added the trailer hook in the normal way.

Either or but not both JMO.

I have great success with a ribbon tail worm as a trailer, no extra hook

X2. However I tend more often to just use trailer hook, free swinging. With the blades and the skirt, the pattern is pretty much all there. A trailer is kind of over-kill in my opinion.
