I caught a bunch on them about 2 years ago by fishing them as weedless topwaters over mats of grass.

It's actually got a pretty nice tail kickin' action, pleasantly surprised. Maybe it's just me but I found the Berkley to be a little bit stiff.

But I didn't give them enough time to actually catch anything on them, maybe this year.

I have read way more negative reviews than positive.

In my opinion they are the worst paddletail baits I've tried and I've tried several brands. Try the Pro Swimbaits brand, looks fantastic in the water and they catch a lot of fish. They are a lot softer and retrieve well at slow or high speeds.

Try modifying the tail a little bit.
