Minnow Rap

Featured Replies

Has anyone used these?

I use a jointed Shad Rap that produces real well for me, plus the original Rapala.  Saw the minnow Rap being a evolution of the two thought that it might be good.  Also, the lakes that I fish do not have Shad in them and the minnow more resembles the forage base for these lakes.

Yeah they are good cranks.

Does this crank suspend or float?  Do you fish it like a jerk bait or a constant retrieve like a crank bait?

Here's the video that Rapala has. Looks like a floating bait, made from Balsa.

Sounds like a good reason to try it, doesn't it? I mean geez, it's a Rapala, it'll catch something. :)

I used to have one of these. The lake I usually fish I never caught anything on it. I think it's cause fish in that lake like fat rattling cranks. I did catch a lot of nice smallies on it at one lake, though.

guess i'll have to do that.

It's a floating/diving bait that has a minnowbait/crankbait hybrid profile.

i caught a fish on one once. haven't fished it since.

I bought an older MR - 9 and caught a ton of bass on it.  At times it was the only thing I could catch them on.  I got it hung up in a submerged tree and lost it.  I just bought another - only major downfall - it doesn't cast very far because it is kind of a light bait.  But has worked well for me in natural lakes in michigan.
