Hey Jeff, The Luck-E-Strike Scrounger Jig Head comes with a Gamakatsu hook.

I just got a few ~ 1/2oz with a 4/0 and 3/4oz with a 5/0.

Hook is decent - seems a little small bit is sticky sharp.

I will note that it's not overly heavy gage wire, which might be something we'll be looking for.

The Luck-E's worked fine last year. Just trying to find one with a heavier wire hook. But if not, they will be fine. With the underspins, I have yet to find one with a quality enough hook to trust a potential DD on.

Ever think about adding a trailer hook to a scrounger ?

Especially when trailing a longer type plastic like those big flukes.

Under spins with good hooks are running bout 5$ a piece have you seen the under spin scrounger? Aaron martin make some for a local tackle shop. If you want some let me know

Brandon, which ones are they? The underspins I have used( Swarming hornet and Blakemore), hooks are just not up to snuff. I think the underspin scrounger you are talking about are mae by swarming hornet. If so, the hooks are ok, but not enough for what I want.

These are Davis X underspin scrounger. Don't know about the hook I'll send u a few to try they maybe available over the net now Idk?
