Lowrance Hds-9 Gen 2 Touch

Featured Replies

I am looking to get a structure scan sonar this winter and have been looking at this touch screen unit from Lowrance. It looks like a home run and very user friendly. Imam usually a Humingbird guy but had heard that Lowrance is better on the side scan. You don't need the additional black box for the structure scan anymore and with the touch screen it looks like this is the way I'm going to go. Any info. on the subject would be great.

Thanks,

Tom

Yes, you have it right. The Touch has built-in StructureScan. I've been running the 9 Touch for several months. I see absolutely no negatives associated with the touch-screen technology, just all positives. Navigation through the unit menus, adjustment of settings, etc. is just so much more efficient and user-friendly with the touch screen.

I am looking at one as well, the only addition you need is the lss-2 transducer. Local guy got one as an early Christmas present and was having it installed at the local shop and i got to play around with it some. Pretty much anything you could want to do is just a touch away. I was really impressed with what I saw.

The new system sounds outstanding.

However, with that said, I will add that I always wait a year for the next series to come out to fix any bugs in the original ones.

Looks like the future of bass fishing has the future angler not only being a math major to figure out angles; a scientist to note the fishing conditions and its effect on the bass; but a computer nerd to figure out the electronics.

Where is my cane pole and bobber when you need them????

have 2 hds touch 7's. love them easy to use and perfect clarity. its almost like cheatin!
