Roadtrip Suggestions....?

Featured Replies

I'm ready for a January, southeast roadtrip. I'd appreciate suggestions on places to visit for bass. I do not plan on taking my boat, so I'll be shore bound. Thanks for the suggestions.

Have you checked on the Disney World ponds and if you can fish the ponds and canals from the bank?

No you can't.

Like FD said no fishing from the banks or anywhere in there.

You can get a guided trip but its very expensive and Iv heard good and bad about them.

Is a guided road trip in your budget? Maybe do a round-a-bout tour of some of the better bass fisheries in Florida...Toho (Capt Jackson/Capt Leech)...Stick Marsh (George Welcome)...Okeechobee (Steve Daniel)...South Florida (Capt Shane)...etc...

Nope. You used to be able to fish in the wilderness camp ground area but can't anymore, they won't even let you fish if you rent a boat. You have to take the excursion they offer. I have done it, we did a 2 hr. it was with my son, we caught a good amount on the shiners they provided but nothing over 3 pounds, for the money hire a real guide and go to a real lake. the sad thing is the disney lakes were stocked in the late 60's or 70's(can't remember what year I read) and they were not allowed to be fished for 17 years. I would think there are some nice mature fish in that system though...too bad.

Disney is entirely off my list. I just dodged a trip down there this fall.........Though,a guided trip isn't entirely out of the question. Thanks for your input. Keep the ideas coming.
