Abu Garcia Revo S Gen 3 Or Shimano Citica?

Featured Replies

Like em' both, both the same price, which one do you recommend most? Mostly will be used for crankbaits. Please be fair (no Shimano fanboys(: )

You just posted on another thread that you liked the Citica G series better than the E series??????

You also posted that you like the Revo S in a different thread???????

If that is the case, and you have used both, you should know which you prefer.

One of your other posts said you were getting the Revo in the mail soon, so I hope you picked it as being the better of the 2.

Vinnie,

For crankin you need low ipt (inches per turn of handle) the S is in the upper 20's above 25, the Citica offers 5.4:1 gear that brings in 22 ipt. Unless your taking lipless cranks then the Citica is the only choice given that you are considering two reels. If u are willing to look at other reels, there is a David Frittz reel in the flea market made for cranking.

Vinnie,

I am a Revo fan for sure so I am biased... but i think if you get the Lews Tournament MG for the same price, you can pick it up in the 5:1 ratio which would be most beneficial for cranking... I would go with that one...
