Over-Sized Rod Bag?

Featured Replies

I've been looking for a simple storage carrying bag to haul my rods from house to lake and back. I mostly fish small club tournaments (non-boater) and I've slowly built up a large collection of rods and hate them banging around loose in the truck. I'm not really looking for anything flashy or expensive, just practical. The only issue is it seems most rod bags are only 7' or 7'2'' at best. I'm looking for something that will hold rods up to 7'6''. My first glance through Bass Pro and Cabelas was a bust. Anyone know of a rod bag available for longer rods? Any thoughts or input would be great.

TW sells the Pro Locker Rod Bag ~

I don't own one but have read some decent reviews - sounds like it could be just what you're looking for.

Best solution is to go to the dobyns rod website (http://dobynsrods.com/index.php) and buy yourself any rod on there. Then in a few days when it arrives it will be shipped in a pvc tube , solves your travel problem and on top of that you get a new rod. It really is a win win situation.

My wife bought me a rod duffle bag from BPS. Holds like 5 easy. Fully assembled rods and reels, just pull out and cast.

Years ago when I was fishing BFL as a co-angler I got  rod bag very similar to the Pro Locker rod bag listed at Tackle Warehouse.  I totally forget the brand, but I remember it was priced similar to the one at Tackle Warehouse.

Since getting that bag, I wouldn't fish a tournament without it.  It makes transporting rods from your vehicle to the boat a no muss no fuss proposition.  Go ahead and pop for it.

Thanks for the replies.  The TW pro rod locker is perfect.
