Just got both the hard gil and soft gil swimbaits. On the soft gil there is a second eyelet on the bottom of the bait between the fins. Is that for line to swim the bait rather than use it as a bed bait? Or is it there for spits and giggles?

I think you mean the eyelet for putting on a treble hook on the bottom of the swimbait.  You don't have to use it, I don't.

yep, for trebles in open water. Matt recommends fishing the soft gill like a jig...so no treble for me!
