Shimano Pros

LgMouthGambler has to be connected to Shimano. Maybe hes an evil spy sent here by Shimano to corrupt and brainwash everyone.

I find it kind of funny that Shimano doesn't need the Pro's to use their product to sell it. I would venture to say that Quantum is at the bottom of many peoples list, yet quite possibly the best bass fisherman ever is sponsored by them.

I guess if you see something pimped out everywhere, the product doesn't speak for itself and they rely on someone else using it to do the "pro"moting.

You're right quantum is at the bottom of my list

I agree about quantum. It is the one brand of reel/rod that I will never own again. I have tried their casting rods and reels and spinning rods and reels. You couldn't pay me to fish quantum gear.

I bet if they paid you as much as they are paying KVD, you would reconsider......lol

Powell dumped everyone. Loomis is Shimano. Before the sale I had two friends sponsored by Gary. Everyone was dumped without a thank you after the sale. Lots of hard feelings. Tough business.

Is powell having problems, or are they going after different pros?

The one thing that is substantiated is there are facebook posts by "some " former sponsored pros who are no longer affiliated with the company.  Anything after that would be rumor.  You know what rumors do. I'll leave it at that. "Dumped " may have been an inappropriate term

Still wouldn't do it. I truely believe their products aren't built to last and they have too many issues for what it is worth. If, I was on the tour and sponsored (which would NEVER happen) , if I couldn't get Daiwa or shimano I wouldn't want the sponsorship. Simply put these two brands fit my style and needs best and I have the most confidence in their products.

Larry Dahlberg and Jose Wejebe (RIP)

Off topic but I had to put this out.  I do not think anyone will ever surpass these two for being TRUE and REAL to the  sport.  Larry Dahlberg is one bad dude and would probably jump a croc to get just one more Peacock!  The fact that he has ALWAYS used shimano really says something.  Like the GLOK of fishing reels....jungle, desert, ocean....Golden Durado, Wolf fish, Peacock and Arapiama (SP?).

RIP Wejebe

Not sure how it is now but a few years ago it was almost impossible to do any kind of business with Shimano. That is how it got with PowerPro after Shimano bought them too.
