Trying to decide if I want to "Get Vicious" or just stick with the more expensive P-Line Halo.  Lots of pro anglers on youtube raving about this new Vicious Fluoro.  Wondering what are the thoughts of those here that have or are currently using it?  Does it live up to the hype?  I sure like the prices better than the flouro I use now.  Would like some input before I buy it.  Thanks!

My buddy uses it and loves it. I ve never used it but i dont think i would be affraid to.

For me it's a little stiff for 15 # test or higher. I have found that P-line Flurocear is a great line for stretch, invivisibility, and cost. I get the ultra is green color.

Just a thought.

One of my fishing partners tried a spool this past summer and did not like it. Maybe he got a bad spool, but it had significant memory and seemed to break off considerably more than other brands of fluoros with similar line diameters. He has now switched to Sunline (this is what I use as well) and for us it is considerably better. 

 

On a side note, I use to use Vicious copoly in the 15-20lb range and loved the stuff for pitching jigs and t-rigs. Than I ran into a few bad spools and was breaking off on a regular basis like there were weak spots throughout the spool. Thats why I say maybe he received a bad batch of the Elite Fluoro...

I have been using it for a couple of years now, and have zero complaints.  It may get a little stiffer with a bit more memory in the higher pound tests, but what fluoro doesn't?  I have yet to find anything that is better for the money.

The first time I spooled a reel with that line, was on my recent trip with Big O. He uses that line in 25lb test for deep jigs and Tx rigs. When I first felt it, it felt very stiff, and like I should treat it with Line and Lure. He told me I wouldn't need it once I hooked a ten pounder and stretched it out a bit. He was right. The line actually laid down and was nice all by itself after a few casts. I can tell you one thing. That stuff is so tough, it blew my Mind! We were fishing very jagged rocks down there in S Texas, and hanging up quite a few times, and not wanting to burn the spot, we would yank the crap outta that line in those rocks, and maybe only broke off a couple times all week. He actually straightened a hook on a Seibert Big O jig pulling from the rocks, but the line was fine. I'm going to be using 15 or 17lb test for my jigs now, and I would recommend it to anyone.

I just got some for Christmas ,and can't wait to try it out!

I spooled all my reels with Vicious this last tournament season.  I had no break offs and all I had to do was retie when I felt like I needed to.  

Very strong and abrasion resistant but its like trying to cast a slinky through your guides. It would make a great leader but I pretty much hate it as a main line.

One word =STIFF

 

Once you get it broke in it's OK  but yea unless you are catching 10# fish I'd say try you probably wont like it.

 

I have a spool in 25# & I'd like to try the 15# to see how it behaves... it may be a lot more tame-able.
