Fish Finder Cable Routing

Featured Replies

Going to mount fish finders tomorrow.

Question: should I drill a hole for the bow fish finder

cables through the fiberglass or through the metal plate

That has a couple of switches and trolling motor

Electrical receptacle?

Going to cover the hole with a clam shell cover.

I flush mounted my unit to the plate but if yours don't fit I would bring the cables out thru the metal plate. Wrap electrical tape around the cables come thru the hole. the clam shell will hide that.

How ever you mount it, you need to make sure water and moisture does not get into any hole on our boat.  You can go to a hardware store and get a pastic plug that you can run your cables through...  Just a thought.

Got fishing brain, if you have a chance I would love to ask you some questions about Ft Gibson Lake.  You can email me at nov232002@msn.com....
