Milwaukee In March

Featured Replies

Originally posted this in the central section and got no response figured I would try here.

I am going to be in downtown Milwaukee March 20 - 23. Is it worth it to bring the gear? Won't have much free time ( 2-3 hours in the evening, maybe) curious if I might be able to be put on some fish in that little bit of time or if my gear should just stay home. Also private transportation will probably be non existent as I am riding up with my students. It appears I will be less than a half a mile from Pere Marquette park/ N riverwalk way and the Milwaukee river. Let me know what you think.

Thanks.

Take a look at 00Mod's Milwaukee thread. The browns will still be in the harbors. White tube jigs and white Gulp Minnows should be the ticket. Bass will be nonexistant at this time. There are some areas on the Milwaukee River you can fish from shore for walleye, but the river has industrial discarge and the fish won't taste so good.

Yes bring your gear! The browns will be feeding. And it all depends on our winter here. In the river downtown Milwaukee the walleyes can be caught wright by Erie street. And there are some sm there too.Another good spot is under the Hoan Bridge where the river enters the lake. You can fish from shore in alot of areas.
