Great Weather, Going To Lake O Tomorrow

This weather down here has been beautiful. Gonna head to the lake and swim around Slims and sling some bait. Should be a good bit for the mid day time. Hopefully the fish are moving in for the spawn with this cold weather. We shall see.

Good luck dude. Enjoy! I went out yesterday to my local spot and was only able to entice one to bite. Hopefully they are open to your offerings today.

Is there a swimming hole there, or do you swim in the canal?

Since we are in a warming trend, with some cloud cover, I think it will be a good bite this weekend.

Swim aka boat around, lol.

I'm planning on going up to the lake in the morning. Most likely go out of the South bay ramp!

Youll be close to us.

How'd you do? I only managed some dinks in the morning with a zara spook. Holy WIND!!! I was getting blown around all day today, lol. I found some pristine clear water but no dice, didn't even see one bed either.

Over the last week bass fishing for me has been the slowest in a couple of months and the have been small.  It's not quite time yet but starting to see signs for some my other species favorites.

Yeah, its was VERY slow up there. Only caught a few. Saw a lot of pros running around up there prefishing for next weekend.

agree, I went outta Rolands, and actually met him we were putting in at the same time, and only caught a few. Had one over 4 flipping but little else.  If things dont change and send some girls in with this cold front weights are gonna be way down for the pros this week. If its bright and sunny like it was sunday could be brutal.

Yeah. Some pros were following us around trying to see where we were going. One followed us in one area, then like a !#!%$^ went up and on plane through this tight area, causing all the mud and muck to dirty the water. Then they got stuck where I knew they would where it got real shallow. My buddy asked if we should help them. I told him for what they just did, they can call someone to help them for all I care. They eventaully got free after about 30 minutes of gunning the engine. I just laughed at them when they came by real slow past us on the way out.

I had after front blues, lock jawed fish for 2 days, the pros will get a warming trend and they'll eat like mad this week.

I have a tourney Saturday another front will probably hit.

I've stayed away from the lake recently and have just fished the WPB canal system. LGMthGambler you should try Ida or Osborne early before the jetskis come out(usually around 1-2 from my experience. Instead of going all the way to Lake O you could probably do better in these tough conditions. More variety of cover, docks, etc. Peas are back sort of, clown knifefish(if you are lucky), and a 4 pounder is not unusual just about every day. There are much bigger fish as well, my biggest so far out of Lake Pine(WPB airport lake) has been an 8 a few years ago. I'll head to the Lake when its time.
