How Are You Supposed To Fish This Bait?

Featured Replies

I'm wondering how to fish this bait, since i'm new to bass fishing. I won a prize pack thing, and these were in it, but i haven't had a chance to ask anyone. So these are Berkley Powerbait Realistix... (Pogy Swimmin' Shad) in the shad color. All I want to know is how to fish them, when to fish them, and where. I just want to give em' a whirl

Thanks

I would try them in a variety of ways - shaky head, weightless t-rig and wacky come right to mind. I would start weightless t-rig, then as small a bullet weight (pegged or not depending on cover) and then move to a shaky head if it didn't produce.  It's a good worm to experiment with.

well the problem with that, they already have a hook in them coming out the back ("Spine")

Ah, sorry, I was thinking the Realistix Sinking Minnow which is a cross btwn a senko and a trickworm...

I would just slow roll them and swim them over the top of grass or lay downs. I don't use them

Much because of the heavy cover and vegetation I fish. With the exposed hook, they would probably hang up more times than not.
