Hey guys, mulling over the idea of making my own spinnerbaits. Wondering where I can buy the materials to use. Where is the best place with the largest selection. Also, what are some of the best ball bearing swivels to use, I have heard there is a difference in which ones you use. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys, Matt

First off there is nothing like catching fish on a bait that you made yourself! I buy a lot of my supplies from Barlow's ( http://www.barlowstackle.com ). I do recommend investing in a quality pair of round nose pliers though.    

Are you talking about making the spinnerbaits including the lead head, painting etc?  If so then there are several places you can go for molds etc.  One of the more reputable is barlows as suggested.

 

If you just want to assemble your own spinnerbaits from premade heads then I am partial for the stuff on fishingskirts.com.  You can pick and choose blades, beads, separators, various head types and obviously skirts.

 

As for the bearing the best on the market is Sampo.  They are pricey.

I've been making Spinners, Buzz, Jigs, and cranks for years now; I think I've used every site on the web and I like Jann's the best.  If you have any questions just give them a call and they really take the time to talk with you.  Take a close look at their site, there's a lot of info there you can download, like a handy sizing chart you can print as a reference.

The size 0 swivel in the link below has worked well for me for several seasons. Do not waste your money on the imported bb swivels.
