Vendetta 6'6" Med Fast

Featured Replies

Picked up a 6'6" med/ fast rod I found on sale in the back of a clearance rack in walmart for 60 bills. Thinking about what technique to use it for don't have any other rod wirh these specs. Im thinking some 3/8 spinners and chattersbaits, whay do you guys think?

Spinnerbaits, crankbaits, worm and jigs. To be honest the M Vendetta is a very versitile rod.

I have the same rod paired with a premier spinning reel. I fish any and everything on this setup, with 10lb yo-zuri hybrid.

Works great with weightless plastics and light t-rigs, 1 and 1.5's, spook jr's, shakey head, etc.

I paired the same rod with a 7.1:1 Pro Qualifier and use it for buzzbaits, spooks, and other topwater lures mostly. Sometimes I'll use it for spinnerbaits as well. It's a pretty good rod, especially for $60.

be careful fishing a fast action rod with a spinnerbait that you don't pull the lure out of the fishes mouth on hookset.  I like a little rod bend on my spinnerbait setups.

I have the same length, power and action on a first gen Vendetta, the cheapest rod I bought and I really like it. Spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, chatterbaits work well, I've also used it to throw senkos in a pinch and some small 1/4oz jigs although it isn't the most sensitive rod for that. One thing I found that I now dedicate that rod to is soft jerkbaits like flukes and slug-o's, the reason is the medium is more like a medium heavy when it comes to how stout the rod is but it does load really well and is a great casting rod with a lot of power to set the hook through plastic.

I am going to use my 6'6" Avid Medium/Fast and pair it with my Curado 50E and use it for light plastics and shaky heads.  Maybe this would work for you too?
