Classic Payout

Featured Replies

As I was looking at the leaderboard from the Classic I noticed the payout:

Winner: $500,000

2nd: $45,000

I'm amazed at the payout difference.  I think BASS should evaluate that.  I think a second at the Classic should be worth $100,000.

Just an observation!

I think it is perfect how it is myself.  You are winning the ultimate prize and it is life changing both financially and in your career as an angler.  Also making 45k in 3 days is nothing to be ashamed of :)

I also imagine it is somewhat representative of sponsorship money as well.

Dont forget the 1,000,000 in sponsorships too

I know Hank Cherry is kicking himself for losing that fish, but just think about what this Classic did for his career.

A big thing for alot of fishermen breaking into the sport is the exspense. Hank won alot of respect this weekend and hopefully for him, he gained some intrest from possible sponsors. This kid will only get better. I would like to see him continue to fish and climb the ladder up to the elites. The sponsors will def help him on that road as far as expenses.

Last place gets 10K!!

I bet that barely covers expenses for the trip.  I am not sure if there is a buy-in for the classic or not.

I just listened to Pace on the Mike and MIKE pod cast and he was a pleasure to listen to. I think this weekends interviews with him and the final weigh in he was just in shock...or still in focus mode.

That is far from true with the 1000000 in endorsements. It all depends on how good of a salesman you are.

Being a good spaker and being able to promote yourself and products is the biggest attribute of winning the Classic. If you cant sell-you will be lucky to take home 50,000.. Thats why Ike and some others are just great self and product promotors. Public speaking is huge for endorsements. Some people have it some dont-Ralph Cramden didnt have it--ZIP ZIP ZIP Humina-humina-humina-

He had to have been in shock. I had a floor seat and took a few great pics as he and the wife passed. He looked like a deer in headlights.

Theres no buy in to the classic. Its the one tournament a year that is invitation only with no buy in
