yah i saw that. Do you have any suggestions? If possible I would like it to be medium-medium heavy and a one piece.

Well I recently bought a Veritas it was $99 not sure how much the trade in will get you down to. And you have to factor in sales tax. I have heard good things about the BPS Bionic. One thing I do when researching anything is look at the customer ratings and also the number of reviews. A 4.5 star rated item with 600 reviews hold more weight than a 5 star review with only one person. The reviews should help you narrow down the choices out there.

If you are patient enough you can find the Veritas on sale pretty cheaply.  I bought mine on a clearance shelf at a local tackle store for 49.99.  In January when I went to BPS the Veritas were on sale in store for 74.99-79.99.  I would've bought another one, however I was there to buy a new reel and some line.  So I didn't have the extra cash to spend on it.  I wish I did!

I'd suggest you hit BPS and talk to one of the sales folks - the Fishing manager if possible. Explain your situation and what you have to spend.

 

That said: my .02 is this. Of the rods you mention and the money you have to spend, the Shock is a good rod and gives you money left over for other needs. OR, I also like the Daiwa T....

The shock is also 10 dollars cheaper at walmart (most have them) off the shelf 39.99 new. That would be me based on the rods listed and your budget is way under with that.

Of the rods you mention the Bionic Blade is by far the best. Over the years I have fished a lot of rods, and the Bionic Blade is what I furnished customers with on my Lake Erie Charters for Bass Walleye or Perch. You are getting all rod for your money and none paying for just a name!!  I have 5 that I used personally and keep for use with my grandkids for river fishing. They are very sensitive, and as durable as it gets, they will be as good as name brand rods costing twice as much. The Bionic Blade and the BPS Extreme are both way under rated as  good, very sensitive, and durable, high quality rods worth twice their price!!

Ok I think I have narrowed it down to the bps bionic blade, the Abu Garcia veritas, and the Berkley lightning.

The mojo bass is great for a 100 if u want to spend that much

I have a 6' M Bionic Blade that I have caught hundreds of fish with. I actually think I got it when I was about 16.  it a great rod, great sesitivity, light weight, just great.

I think I am going to get the bionic blade and a pflueger president. Thanks everyone for you're help

one last question should i get the regular or micro guide bionic blade? Is there any real advantages to the micro guides?
