Gel Coat And Carpet

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, i recently purchased a 1988 stratos 266 f/s, i cant wait until the weather warms up ,so i can clean it up, what do you guys use to get the gel coat shinier, i took a little turtle wax rubbing copmuond to a spot and it looked better,so it doesnt seem like it needs to much polishing, also the carpets are dirty ans some green spots along the edges, what or how do you get them clean ?

Before using abrasives on the gelcoat I would first start by using toilet bowl cleaner. It should take off most of the scum and watermarks. Use a sponge and wear rubber gloves. Do it in sections rinsing off periodicaly. You can then apply a coat of wax and use BBS each time on the water.

Toilet bowl cleaner ? Really,I never heard of using that

Yep. Toilet bowl cleaner. If the scum and algae is real bad you can buy a product called Slimeygrimey (sp)

Then get yourself some BTS and watch it shine..
