Those That Have Done Deck Extensions...

Featured Replies

Any online resources you found to be helpful?  I've gone a ton of searches mostly leading back to forum posts that are old and dont have pictures.

I'm in the planning stages right now.  Debating if I should frame with metal/aluminum or just go with treated wood.  ATM I'm thinking about making 2 storage boxes that would also extend the deck and be removeable.

Check out www.tinboats.net. Lots of useful info on there. First word of advice....treated wood and aluminum don't mix! Buy untreated plywood and seal it with a water sealer like Thompsons. There is copper in pressure treated lumber that can slowly destroy aluminum that it is in contact with.

Tinboats.net is your place.  And go aluminum.  That is the way I did my current boat.  My previous one was sealed untreated plywood, and I would not suggest that!
