How does the double fluke rig work best? and can i put a bead inbetween the swivels? any feedback helps

It's actually called the mule rig and yes you can place a bead above the swivel of the second fluke. The key is the line length

It was originally called the Tandem Rig and then the Double Fluke Rig and then the Donkey Rig but this is the first time I've heard it called the Mule Rig.

 

 

I only tried it twice last season. No luck on those occasions, but I'll certainly be giving it another whirl this season.

I did it alot last year and really liked it. I got bit more than i did before with a single fluke. I tried it with a 7inch fluke in the back and had a little success with that too. But this rig has its place, you may get lucky and get bit in random spots on your lake but it excells in places where bait fish are running hard or where bass are chaing them.

Last summer, I used it on a point where the main channel swings in and caught a limit in less than 45 mins. (But there again, the wind was blowing bait in and bass were setting up and hitting them when they came over rocks and ambush spots)

works awesome when fish are ganging up on a school of alewives, I assume equally effective when shad or blueback herring are the forage.  if you see a school of fish busting baitfish on the surface this is one of the best things to throw at them.

i also use the donkey rig quite often,been fairly successful so far
