Shore and im around cook county

Every once and awhile I do get to chase the smallies there . Unfortunately I haven't made it to Powerton yet this year . Just got a new lake (50 acres) to fish , so I've been hitting that . Plus it's only 5 minutes from home .

Beck Lake in DesPlaines is a real good lake to shore fish for bass and big crappie from late April until the weeds choke it up. Skokie Lagoons are good for bass and walleye. Busse has some good fish but you probably have to rent a boat to get to them. Dupage County has Blackwell Forest Preserve, West Branch, and Bass Lake. Blackwell has big numbers of bass. West Branch and Bass have some big fish but don't expect to catch alot. In Lake County, Independence Grove is probably your best bet. There is a fee to get in and it is catch and release only. There are good numbers of 4lb+ fish.
