Featured Replies

I use a 5/0 Gammy superline with the RT frog

Dink's got it right

Here's a link that shows rigging instructions....just scroll down to the Rage Toad for an illustration.

I also use the heavy wire Gammy 5/0, or a 6/0 owner twistlock. They're a lot easier to rig up correctly with the Twistlocks, and the baits last longer, too.

I use 4/0 Owners and have never had a problem. I know that bigger would probably be better, but I'm lazy and haven't had a reason to switch.

Owner twistlocks work great .....

I like the Owner hooks also! ;)

the rage website shows tips and tells you the best ways to rig all of their baits... and the little paper that comes in the bag is handy too.  If you still have it, take a look.  Otherwise the rigging instructions are on rage's website.

I used a 5 EWG gamma lastnight and it worked fine.  Does the twistlock keep the frog from swimming upside down?  Man i hate that

Follow these hooking instructions and problem solved ;) Pls. pay close attn to the hook slot that is provided on the Toads back and avoid bowing the back upward when skin hooking. This technique works on most all soft plastic baits

What size Owner Twistlock would be better for Horny Toads and Ribbits, 5/0 or 6/0?

i use the 5/0 Owner twist locks for the smaller sized frogs . another good tip is to swap out the CPS springs for the bigger 1/4" size(large) ones  ;)

If you are running your Toad in winded water, using a 1/16 or 1/8 oz weighted hook will keep the bait from skippong out in the waves and also add distance to your cast. You can still run it relatively slow by raising your rod tip a bit  ;)
