Fishing baby brush hogs?

Featured Replies

Got a pack of these but haven't had any luck with them yet at the local pond.

What is the best way to fish/rig these? swim them back or fish em like a worm?

T-Rig it. Flip it. Pitch it. Catch fish with it.

Texas rigged, I either pitch it or fish it like I fish a regular worm.  Cast it out and let it sink to the bottom pull it up a short ways and let it sink back to the bottom repeat all the way beck to the boat.  I usually use a 1/0 to 2/0 EWG hook, some may go larger.

I use a 4/0 t-rig with the lightest weight possible.

I Use those creatures with 2/0 ewg Gamakatsu, and is a bait, easy to use and you can work in many ways, C or T rigs, as trailer, etc.   The way I like to use in ponds is weightless, are really effective.

I let it sink and recover very, very slow, most of the time just reeling, with very few or none rod movement.

Tried t-rig today w/ no success, but it was a slow day b/c of the rain.

Are these effective swam back like the gycb kreatures?

There are TONS of ways to fish a Brush Hog.  C-rig, Texas rig, shakey head, weightless, etc.

The most popular of those being Texas rigging just dragging and hopping it along the bottom.

I like to split shot the baby brush hogs and Texas rig the regular sized ones

I T-rig them and use them on the shakey head.

The way I like to use in ponds is weightless, are really effective.
