Best Price On Fuel Injectors?

Featured Replies

I'll be helping a friend replace his fuel injectors on his 2003 Mercury 115.  Any recommendations on where online I can get the best price for a set?  And will they have just the screens/o-rings as well?  Thanks.

I can take them out and clean them myself - have done it for cars numerous times and it's no big deal.  If it was car part, I'd know where to go online for good pricing, just have never bought any outboard parts before. I was hoping there'd be more self-mechanics here.

That was just my first suggestion, with that kind of an attitude, good luck on finding help.

Not sure what I said to show attitude so I apologize in any event.  I am just looking for online part retailers, not servicers.

any mercury dealer will gladly charge you a few hundred a piece for them. you can get them cleaned for far less

I'm sure since he knows all about what he's doing, he already knows, depending on type, they can cost $200 to over $400 each and doesn't want to know about any cleaning and calibration services. After all, he can take them out, brush the carbon off, put them back in and call that clean. Those guys that use the ultrasonic baths and special cleaning fluids to back flush and clean the internals and check calibration just do that so they can charge bunches of money.

Those of us that have been working on them for umpteen years, we don't know about any of that stuff.

You certainly like to assume a lot into my posts. First the attitude, then I don't know anything about cleaning and calibration, then all I'm doing is brushing off carbon and putting them back in. I certainly missed where I mentioned I didn't have an ultrasonic bath or flow test gear, etc.

Not sure what's got you all-riled up but all I want to know is good online sources for parts. It was a simple request. I'm sure you're quite skilled in working on boats, but whatever is rubbing your rhubarb about my ask, you need to step back from the ledge.

Well.....that escalated quickly.

Just stick to answering the original question. Any insults, unnecessary attacks, or abusive behavior will result in suspension or banning. It's a simple question - where does he get parts. If you have any other info to help, offer away. Otherwise move on. Jeez.

For the "best" price, go here and input your serial number to find the parts for your engine: http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Merc/parts.html

For the best parts and customer service, go here and do the same:  http://www.europeanmarine.org/partsaccessories.html

Find the right part number, then give them a call or email.  Have your engine serial number handy again.

Don Weed runs European Marine, and he's been very helpful.  You may pay a bit more than the boats.net site, but you will likely get your

parts faster from Don, and know there is someone helpful to talk with if you have problems.
