Problem With Trailer Hook On Spinnerbait

Featured Replies

I bought a few packs of Gamakastu Trailer Hooks. Sizes 1/0 and 2/0. The medical tubing that it comes with is too big for the hook slides right on and off. I know im doing something wrong, help is needed lol.

How are you putting on the tubing? A small 1/4" piece put over the eye of the trailer, then put the spinnerbait hook through the eye of the trailer, and the tubing will hold it. Or you can put the trailer on the spinnerbait hook and then put the tubing on the spinnerbait hook just behind the trailer, sideways, so that you stab it and it stays put.

trying to put it on loosely. I think putting it over eye is right way I should be doing.

all you do is cut a small piece, instead of putting the hook through the opening in the tube, put the point of the hook through both sides. Basically just thread the palstic on there. To better explain it. Cut a small piece, put the point of the hook on the middle of the side of the tube. Then push through until you come out the other side. Simple

I do it this way because I like the trailer hook moving freely rather than rigid.
