Looking For 2 More Rods

Featured Replies

Currently I have a Vendetta 2 MH XF with a Black Max 2 with 50lb power pro. I also have 2 more new Black Max 2's new in box and they need a rod. What rods should I look into getting? (What power, taper, etc.) I am trying to keep each under $100.

Do you need a cranking rod, topwater, jerkbait etc? Telling us what you fish will get you better suggestions.

I like a 7' to 7'4" MH Fast for an all-around rod.  Less than $100 eliminates some rod companies unless you can find a used rod within your budget.  I have some experience with Falcon Originals, and think one would make a good crankbait rod.  My main crankbait rod is a Falcon Cara, but that is above your budget.  I also have a 7' Medium Original that I use for crankbaits (and lots of other types of lures as well.)  :)

I use my MH Original to throw 10" unweighted worms into lily pads.  Has decent sensitivity and is plenty strong.  Used it to pull my PB out of a Hydrilla bed.

Every one brings up the Berkley Lightning Shocks, but I bought a Daiwa Jupiter rod at Walmart that I really liked for the one day I was able to use it.  Left it in Florida for my next visit.  It will be seeing more use in about 2 months.

EDIT:  Just received a couple Cabela's Prodigy casting rods.  They seem to be fairly light and well made.  A friend says he prefers them to BPS rods.  He feels the Prodigy rods are made from better blanks.  Won't have a chance to use them for at least another month.  Rod color isn't the prettiest, but who cares as long as the performance is there.

My fav 100 dollar rods are the *** *** series.  I believe they are coming out with a cranking rod as well.

I have a diesel cranking rod.  Its a decent rod, not well suited to deep divers though.
