  1. I just placed an order for a 2016 6.3:1 Shimano Scorpion, and I am trying to decide what rod I should get for it. I am thinking of using it for lighter, more finesse baits. What rod under $200 would be a good fit for it?
  2. Here's a finesse combo I put together recently.
  3. A Medium/Medium-Heavy rod with a softer tip would cover lots of treble hook lures. Plus you could throw spooks with this, the best lure in the world.
  4. As for your first question, I think a 6'6" Medium Power rod with a fast action would be a good choice. But I prefer a slower action for spooks (Moderate Fast), so that's the only issue I see. But there's no reason you can't make it work! What's your budget? Also, you could pair your light rod with a 2500 spinning reel and use it for finesse fishing, if you're into that.
  5. I went with a 7' ML Dobyns Savvy micro guide. Thanks guys.
  6. These things look sweet and I'm thinking about getting one on ebay. Opinions?
  7. Looks like I'm gonna try to learn the FG knot. Thanks for the help guys.
  8. I'm having problems with my knot getting caught in the last couple guides of my Duckett Micro Magic Pro. It doesn't get caught when I cast, only when letting a little line out. I just don't want to damage my guides. Anyone know of a smaller knot or a way to solve this?
  9. Looking for a spinning rod to pair with a Stradic CI4+ 2500...suggestions?
  10. Just a Z-Man Finesse T.R.D. in green pumpkin!
  11. I'm actually not sure what that was from. It had a small cut on the other side of its tail. Maybe it happened when I wasrfeeling it in, but it didn't appear to be too serious. That's what everyone keeps telling me, but I keep catching pretty chunky ones on it!
  12. I tried this rig for the first time today and wow am I surprised at its effectiveness. I caught a new personal best in a relative's pond (I was fishing alone so the picture isn't great). They always seem to hit it as the lure is falling. Needless to say, I am very pleased. I would definitely recommend this to everyone!
  13. I caught about 25 yesterday at a private pond, none bigger than 2 pounds though.
  14. I've seen this happen a few times. Why do they do this?
  15. It really caught my attention in the store, never really seen a color like that by SK.
  16. Rage Tail seems to be a favorite on these forums...definitely gonna have to get some.

If there is one must-have lure this year, what is it and why? I'm curious to see what you guys have to say!
  18. Went out and picked up some plastics and a few cranks and jigs. I really like these Terminator Pro's Jig Design jigs. Got them at Gander Mountain.
  19. I had a feeling this question would come up! But, I have plenty now, but I am looking to broaden my skills and the baits that go along with those skills accordingly. And I like your logic, senkos are my go-to baits....
  20. Thank you good sir! I've used them sparingly in the past, but I keep hearing good things each year. I'll definitely grab some of these!
  21. Yes, I am already catching fish! (although it's slow where I am) It's not so much of a "I need more lures, bait, and terminal tackle," but more of a "I want more lures, bait, and terminal tackle." And, I will be buying more of what I already have that has been effective for me. This is also an attempt to broaden my lure spectrum per se. I just want to learn how to use everything.
  22. This rig is actually one of my personal favorites!
  23. I like this list. Thanks!
  24. Never said I needed help. I simply asked what others would purchase when in my shoes.
  25. I am going to do some shopping around and want to pick up a bunch of new baits and lures. I'm looking to spend 200-250 dollars in order to do some restocking for the upcoming spring months. If you were me, what all would you purchase? I need a wide range of baits and lures. I have a little bit of everything right now, but could use some reinforcements, especially soft plastics.
