Today I was at Academy and was eyeballing two rods. 7' Heavy Veritas and a 7'3" Medium Heavy Vendetta 2. I currently have a Vendetta 2 Medium and I love it. I just have an extra black max that needs a rod. So which one? I kinda need a longer rod for jigs and frogs and the longer is the two also cheaper. But I have always wanted a Veritas.

Which do you prefer when ordering rods and reel online? In my experience, UPS is much better, but that could be a regional thing. I only ask because I feel that my last reel I ordered may have been damaged in transit with FedEx. So I got a new one and it is being shipped with UPS this time. It is supposed to arrive in a couple hours, so that will probably be the deciding factor of who I will use in the future.

I am having a similar issue with a reel. I had to send it back last week and it should be here by Friday, only because I ordered one day shipping on the way back.

Once my revo sx gets here, I post a picture of it on a new vendetta.

I have one old one and one new one. They are both outstanding.

Does anyone have any experience with this reel? I am just really antsy about it because the first one I received from Tackle Warehouse was grinding very bad and I had to ship it back for an exchange. The original reel arrives at Tackle Warehouse on Monday. They will then process it, and within a day or two, ship me a new one. Has anyone ever had issues with a reel from Tackle Warehouse, and maybe a revo sx in particular? If so, how was the exchange rate? Someone please help rid myself of worries!

Well does anyone have any experience with the 3rd generation Revo SX?

I received a revo sx from tackle warehouse yesterday. It was very unsmooth, gears felt rough. So, I sent it back after filling out the return form on the back of my invoice. Has anyone exchanged any reels through TW? If so, did they send you a smooth reel, like it should have been?

TNBassin': did you order it from TW? If so how was the exchange speed? Mine got sent in today.

Has anyone had any first hand experience with this reel? I just returned mine for exchange to TW. Hopefully mine was just a defect. The gears felt very rough. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

My revo sx arrives today and I will be putting it on a medium vendetta 2 7' rod. What line should I use? I currently only have cheap mono and vermillion red 50lb power pro. Should I look into seaguarfluoro or yozuri hybrid? I plan on throwing nearly every lure in my tackle box with this setup.

I thought it was nice that I only had to pay 10 dollars for 1 day shipping, that way I can fish on Monday!

Is Tackle warehouse * reliable with their reels? I was just wondering since I ordered a revo sx from them.

Well I only have a moderate fast vendetta and was just wondering if it would be suitable for most types of fishing.

What difference does it make if a rod is moderate fast or fast taper? I know that the rod bends farther down on a moderate fast taper, but that is it.

I have come to find out that the pond is spring fed, thus it would not be as cold as other ponds. I was always wondering why it never froze over...

Oh the middle might be 10 feet. But with the lack of rain, it could be as low as 8 feet.

Tomorrow I plan on going to a local pond for a few hours. I live in Kansas and it will be about 55 degrees with a light wind and a chance of rain. The pond is not really deep, probably about 42-47 degree water temp. What lures do you guys suggest using? What time of day? Any tips would be appreciated.

Is there any way to clean the gears without completely taking the gear mechanism apart?

Will dry gears in a baitcaster make it feel rough and cause a small grinding noise? My brother's baitcaster seems to have this issue.
