Yeah, I know of a few spots that have produced consistently in the spring and summer months, but it gets very slow around these parts in the winter and fall. I think I'm just too impatient with my approach. What do you guys think about tossing a jig in a sandpit in the next couple weeks when the air temp gets to the 50s?

I'll let you know how it goes. Where else have you guys had luck this winter?

I've heard good things about the 2 ponds near the water treatment facility at 135th and 37th in Maize. I think they are named "Blackbird" and "Sunflower" ponds. Not sure how a buddy of mine caught 4 fish from there considering the lack of cover and time of year, but I'm gonna give it a shot on Friday.

How long until they charge you? I received an email a few days ago saying that my B.A.S.S. Membership Order was confirmed but have yet to see any fees/transactions in my bank account!

I also just signed up and am wondering when the first issue will be sent after signup.

I really like the feel of the newest style Revo SX, but a friend of mine has had issues with a grinding noise when reeling. Anyone else have this problem?

I've been thinking about getting a new rod and reel lately and I am in need of some opinions. I will be getting my tax return soon, and would like to spend anywhere from $250-$300 for a good all-purpose set up. I am definitely thinking a baitcast reel. I understand that this amount of money won't get me gear that is just top of the line, but I need to save some of my tax return. After all, I am just a college student. I've never really used any setup that was upwards of $100 dollars, so I am excited to hear some suggestions. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I just picked up a pack of these, on sale for $1.50 at my local Walmart. Now, how do you fish them? I was thinking Texas rigged with a 1/8 bullet weight, but would you loop the line through the bullet weight so it doesn't slide up and down? Or do you guys rig them other ways? All input is appreciated!

What is the water temp in your smaller bodies of water?

Can you effectively fish ponds that have water temps of about 46-48 degrees with an external temperature of about 60 degrees and sunny? I think I am going to head out on Tuesday to some local ponds for my first bass of 2013. Any tips? What lures, presentations, etc.?

Currently I have a Vendetta 2 MH XF with a Black Max 2 with 50lb power pro. I also have 2 more new Black Max 2's new in box and they need a rod. What rods should I look into getting? (What power, taper, etc.) I am trying to keep each under $100.

I just picked up a 7'3" MH XFast tip Vendetta 2 lure weight 1/4 oz-1oz. This lure rating covers about everything in my tackle box. What other rod would I absolutely need? I don't use a whole lot of treble hooked baits so the tip is not the problem.

Ok I think I am set on the vendetta!

Most places that i fish don't have very thick cover. And maybe up to 1 oz jigs.
