Keowee Spotted Bass

Featured Replies

Went out today since the wind and rain are gone for the most part. Only got bit twice. Once on a drop shot in 60 ft water under a bridge (set the hook too early) and the other in 2 ft of water between a dock and a stump. I caught a solid 2 lb 6 oz female spotted bass at the latter spot. Water temps 54 degrees, I pitched the area, she bit, I missed the hookset and thought I wouldn't get another shot. Pitched same spot and before my jig even hit the bottom in 2 ft of water she was off and running with it. Set the hook and got her in the boat. Shes not a monster, but shes one of the biggest I've caught since I am new to lake fishing. She was very plump and getting ready for the spawn.
